Duties
South African Weather Service Internship Programme 2024-2025. The South African Weather Service (SAWS) hereby invites applications for a one-year Internship Programme. SAWS is looking for high- achieving graduates to join our Internship Programme in the following fields:
1. Marine Services (Cape Town) – Degree or Bachelor of Science: Marine, Atmospheric science, Ocean Observation, Oceanography, – 1 Position
2. Marine Services (Cape Town) – National Diploma: Electrical Engineering – 1 Position
Requirements for Eligibility
Applicants must comply with the following requirements:
- Submit detailed CV with all necessary information (i.e., Address and DOB)
- Applicant to attach academic transcript on the Recruitment Portal, including their Qualifications
- Applicant must be 18 – 35 years of age.
- An applicant must have been unemployed and with no work experience
Interns will be placed at the SAWS office in Cape Town. SAWS Will not pay for relocation costs.
Successful candidates will be responsible for their own transport to the office. The SAWS will pay a
monthly stipend of R6 500.00
Successful candidates will be required to enter into an Internship Agreement with SAWS for a duration
of twelve months. There will be no obligation to employ the intern on completion of the Programme.

It is an authoritative voice for weather and climate forecasting in South Africa and as a member of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) it complies with international meteorological standards.
