Duties

Applications must be submitted on the new Z83 form, obtainable from any Public Service Department website(Download new Z83 form here), stating the field of study the intern is applying for as well as comprehensive Curriculum Vitae in order to be considered. Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified copies of qualifications and ID. The National School of Government reserves the right not to make a placement. Due to large number of responses anticipated, correspondence will be
limited to short-listed candidates only. If you have not been contacted within six months of the closing date of the advertisement, please accept that your application has been unsuccessful. Applicants applying for more than one field of study must submit a separate Z83 form as well as required documentation mentioned to the relevant application address provided.

Applicants must meet the following requirements: have satisfied the academic requirements for the advertised field of study/discipline as detailed below, should not have previously served as an intern or contract worker in the Public Service. All appointments are subject to the verification of educational qualifications, citizenship, reference checks and security vetting. Applicants who participated on the internship programme in the past will be disqualified.

Requirements for Eligibility

Applicants must be in possession of the following undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications:
Multimedia Design/ Visual Communications Diploma, Honours degree and Master’s degree in Social Science.

About The National School of Government (NSG)

The National School of Government (NSG) is mandated with the responsibility of ensuring that public servants comply with the provisions of established legislation, regulations and systems, and can exercise proper discretion and innovation in solving routine and complex delivery problems. To this end, the NSG is tasked with ensuring that all public servants’ participate and complete education, training and development initiatives, as per relevant legislation and Cabinet directives. The NSG is furthermore expected to ensure service delivery impact by supporting institutional performance. At a practical level, the mandate incorporates: (i) providing education and training, (ii) support institutional development, (iii) fostering collaboration, (iv) offering qualifications, and (v) conducting training, examinations or tests (pre-requisites). The mandate extends to providing all offerings in the three spheres of government, state-owned entities and other organs of state.
