Duties
- Maintenance, Installation & Construction : Compliance to all maintenance schedules and mandatory third-party inspections. Conduct fault finding on ancillary electrical equipment and wiring circuits. Verify that all control logic circuits correspond with drawings and are functional. Replacement of OEM approved equipment and components. Thorough knowledge of MHSA Regulations and directives applicable to winding plant. - Administration : Completion of relevant documentation. Adherence to document control standards and procedures. Provisioning of data and information. Safekeeping of documentation
- Team Development & Coaching : Provide on-the-job training and coaching to team members. Nominate team members for developmental training.Ensure that all team members are adequately trained for assigned work. Manage team morale. Allocation of tasks and assignments
- Building a values-based organisational culture :Actively support and meaningfully participate in the execution of the segment specific organisational development plan. This support will manifest in the targeted shift in culture as described by a valid culture assessment.
- ESG Compliance : Align to international responsible mining principles. SA Gold Operations: Align to World Gold Council (WGC) Responsible Gold Mining Principles (RGMPs). SA PGM Operations: Enhance Together for Sustainability (eTfS) initiative. US PGM Operations: Enhance together for ICCM principles.
- SHE Compliance : Maintain and comply with SHE standards within the work environment. Participate in risk assessments, investigate and take appropriate action as per identified risks. Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures. SHE Management: Instil a culture of SHE leadership within the department. Participate in regional/local bodies and decision-making forums in the process developing a business relevant external environment that will result in the longer-term sustainability
- Focus on safe production & operational excellence : Focus on safety and health as well as operational excellence. Improve our position on global industry cost curve.
Requirements for Eligibility
- National N2 Certificate or Technical Grade 12 Certificate.
- Relevant Trade certificate.
- Completed formal learnership programme prior to obtaining an electrical trade certificate as recognized by the MQA
- At least 5 years’ experience in a winding plant environment.
- Knowledge and experience of Siemens, ABB and Alstom winder control systems.
- Knowledge and experience of Conveyance monitoring systems.
- Knowledge and experience of hydraulic systems, schematics and functions
- Knowledge and experience in process control and instrumentation.
- Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
- Clear security screening record.
- Valid driver’s license.
