Duties
The CSSFF-SAMRC Capacity Development Programme is a partnership to train and build the African workforce in biomanufacturing and allied disciplines. For the CSSFF-SAMRC SAHPRA internship programme, SAMRC is requesting applications from graduates who hold 3- or 4-year degrees in health, life or allied sciences including pharmacy.
The CSSFF-SAMRC SAHPRA interns will receive training and development to function as SAHPRA Evaluator Coordinators. The internship will provide a stipend and cover direct costs associated with the training. These opportunities are based at SAHPRA in Pretoria, offering a conducive environment for growth and development.
The training programme will focus on three core categories:
- Clinical evaluation management,
- Quality assurance, and
- Regulatory compliance.
Training and Development will be provided for interns to gain experience and exposure and to effectively be able to conduct the following responsibilities:
- Manage the workflow of the applications by assigning resources to regulatory applications based on the inputs given by Portfolio Coordinators.
- Develop a staffing plan to assist in the correct allocation of applications to Evaluators, by identifying the necessary skill level and capacity requirements for applications.
- Engage with the Evaluators to clarify evaluation-related queries and, therefore, need to hold the relevant qualification, i.e., be either a scientist or pharmacist, with sufficient knowledge and experience to have technical discussions with evaluators and internal staff.
- Process claims, by monitoring actual time spent on allocations by evaluators, payments claimed and auditing this against SAHPRA’s remuneration policy.
- Regularly report on evaluation progress, together with trend analyses, thereby assisting management in tracking performance in the relevant units.
